1. Kawah Putih
Travelling south from Bandung, capital city of West Java you will find yourself surrounded by mountains with magnificent sceneries, a rolling evergreen landscape of neatly cropped tea bushes, clumps of tropical forests, and misty hilltops. Amidst this fascinating setting, a surreal beauty radiates from an enchanting crater lake known as Kawah Putih or literary translated means the White Crafter.
Kawah Putih is located near the charming little market town of Ciwidey, approximately 50 Kilometers south of Bandung. The Crater Lake is one of two craters of Mount Patuha, with the dry Kawah Patuha or the Patuha Crater located 600 meters to its northwest, being the other.
2. Paris Van Java
Paris Van Java Shopping Mall in Bandung is one of the popular shopping spots for the locals and also tourist. Located at Jalan Setiabudi, everyone and anyone in Bandung knows about PVJ as the locals call it. The name Paris Van Java came about because back in the day, Bandung was know as the Paris of Java mostly due to the Dutch era.
The mall is really huge with over 5,000 square meters of shopping and 200 European styled shops. The kind of shopping you will find in here is from middle to high end items. So one would not find the cheaper brands there. One of the brands I saw there was Charles & Keith selling handbags and shoes. Other popular brands are Esprit, Mango (MNG), Roxy, La Senza, Rip Curl, Nike, Crocs, Adidas and many others. Do not expect Versace, Armani, DKNY, Prada, Hugo and the super top named outlets here.
3. Tangkuban Parahu
Tangkuban perahu is an active volcano, situated 30 km north of the city of Bandung in the direction of Lembang. It is the only crater in Indonesia that you can drive up to its very rim. Mount Tangkuban Perahu has a distinctive shape, and looks like an “overturned boat”. The huge crater is an astonishing view and you can walk around and explore this for around two hours. Here you will be greeted by sulfur fumes which the crater continues to emit although the volcano is not active.
4. Saung Angklung Udjo (SAU)
A group of children joyfully line up in traditional Sundanese costume, welcoming all visitors as they walk into the green bamboo hall of Saung Angklung Udjo Village in Bandung, West Java. Simply translated as Udjo’s House of Angklung, this one-stop cultural workshop offers a complete experience around angklung, Indonesia’s traditional musical instrument made of bamboo. Angklung consists of one single note, creating a soothing chord. It produces sound when it is shaken rapidly. An ensemble may consist of 3 or 4 players to a full orchestra playing the angklung repertoire.
5. Trans Studio Bandung
Trans Studio Bandung Theme Park is the second indoor theme park in Indonesia after Makassar. Trans Studio Bandung is much more spectacular and exciting than Trans Studio Makassar, but both have their own uniqueness that makes Trans Studio Bandung not only the biggest in Indonesia but also one of the biggest in the world. Trans Studio Bandung Theme Park has 20 rides and variety of shows. It divided into 3 different zones. Visitors will feel the experience of becoming a star also become a men behind the scene of your favorite TV programs in TRANS TV and TRANS 7, such as ‘Dunia Lain’, ‘Jelajah’, ‘Si Bolang’ and many more.
6. De Ranch Lembang
If you want to ride a horse with cowboy style, you can visit De’Ranch Lembang. Here you can rent some horses along with a cowboy costume and riding it around De’Ranch. You will be guided by a professional. Besides riding a horse, you can also riding a delman (horse-drawn carriages), fun boating, doing some gold hunting or archery and lots of other activities to spend your adventure time.
7. Cihampelas Walk
Cihampelas Walk is a shopping center with a different atmosphere, because the mall was founded in the middle of an open area (open water), so that is a blend of modern shopping building with a beautiful natural atmosphere and refreshing. Cihampelas Walk was established on an area of approximately 3.5 hectares, with a contour somewhat rugged. From an area about it, only one third of the total area used for building shops, while 2 / 3 others or most of the area used for parking lots and the rest are left overgrown with trees either already tens of years old, and some new plants we added to complement and make the atmosphere inside the mall like a different city.
8. Lake Situ Patenggang
Surrounded by vast stretches of lush green tea plantations, Situ Patengan is an enchanting lake that offers not only picturesque scenery but also cool, fresh air and a quiet serenity. Situated some 1,600 meters above sea level, Situ Patengan is located near the market town of Ciwidey, in the Bandung Regency, just a little over 50 Km from the city of Bandung, capital ofWest Java Province. Expressed In the local Sunda language, “Situ” means Lake, thus Situ Patengan means Lake Patengan.
9. Bandung Zoo
Kebun Binatang Bandung is a zoo located in the city of Bandung in West Java, Indonesia. It is one of the famous zoos in Southeast Asia and is one of the important destinations in Bandung. Bandung Zoo is always crowded on the weekend because it is a popular place for local people to do some outdoor recreation. It is located at Taman Sari Road, near Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). It has a lot of fauna and flora that are protected and preserved. You can also enjoy some amusement rides such as Flying Fox, playing at the playground, or riding a rental swan boat in the zoo lake. You can also ride elephants and horses. The cool breeze and the green trees of the zoo makes you stay relax and happy.
10. Gedung Sate
Gedung Sate has now become one of the popular tourist attractions in the city of Bandung. Many visitors from abroad visit Bandung because of their historic relation with this building and the city as well. The historic feeling of this building can best be absorbed when climbing the wooden stairs towards the tower of the building. There are six stairs which have to be ascended before you reach the top. The beauty of Gedung Sate is completed by the decorative and lush gardens that surround the building and are well cared for. Because of its beauty, the gardens are regularly used for shooting family pictures, music clips for local or national artists or love couples.
